The woman in front of the family has many secret superpowers, despite denying being a hero.

JTBC’s latest Saturday-Sunday drama ‘Although I Am Not a Hero’ is all set to make its debut on May 4th, with a newly revealed group poster that is sure to intrigue viewers.

‘Although I Am Not a Hero’ is a fantasy romance that follows the journey of a man possessing extraordinary abilities who, despite being unable to save himself, ultimately rescues the woman from her tragic destiny. The tale revolves around a family gifted with superpowers that have been stripped away by a prevalent modern illness, and the serendipitous encounter with a woman that brings about a mix of heartwarming emotions and joyful moments.

Director Cho Hyun-tak, renowned for his exceptional direction in ‘SKY Castle’, has taken the helm, while writer Joo Hwa-mi, known for her empathetic storytelling in ‘Marriage, Not Dating’, is in charge of the writing. Joining them is writer Kang Eun-kyung, who has earned the unwavering trust of the public through works like ‘Dr. Romantic’, contributing as a creator to elevate the overall quality. The recently unveiled group poster captivates viewers with the distinctive aura of the Bok family, a ‘superpower family’, and the enigmatic presence of Do Da-hae (portrayed by Chun Woo-hee), a ‘suspicious woman’. All attention is now focused on the hidden secrets and untold stories behind the Bok family’s curtain, as well as the emergence of a family with unparalleled superpowers. Firstly, the intriguing glimpse of Returning Joo (Jang Ki-yong) through the curtain piques curiosity. The melancholic shadow cast upon the curtain leaves us wondering about the narrative of his descent into depression and loss of his time-slipping abilities. Additionally, the arrival of Do Da-hae, a mysterious woman who appears like a bolt of lightning before the helpless Gok Hwa-joo, who has lost both happiness and her abilities, further intensifies our curiosity. The piercing gaze behind her inscrutable poker face only deepens our desire to unravel the connection between Returning Joo, the Bok family, and her true intentions, as their fates intertwine by chance.

Bok Man-heum, a member of the Bok family, stands out as a prominent figure due to his unique characteristics. As an insomniac with precognitive dreams, he possesses the ability to foresee events before they happen. This intriguing trait is further emphasized by his imposing presence, casting a large shadow that symbolizes his significance within the family. Behind the curtain, his eyes hold a deep meaning, arousing curiosity among those who encounter him.

Another member of the family, Bok Dong-hee, captures attention with her extraordinary ability to defy gravity. However, her power comes with a drawback, as her body becomes excessively heavy, preventing her from soaring through the sky. Despite this limitation, her expression always exudes a sense of readiness, as if she is prepared to take action at any given moment. This reflects her unpredictable personality, adding an element of intrigue to her character. Furthermore, the transformation in Soohyun’s appearance heightens anticipation for what lies ahead.

Bok-ina, the daughter of a returnee, possesses a unique quality of being unable to express her emotions. Her face remains devoid of any readable signs, leaving others intrigued by her enigmatic nature. The absence of a visible shadow in their family also piques curiosity, setting them apart from others.

Additionally, the twist involving Eom Soon-gu, the father and housekeeper of the family, who lacks any superpowers, adds an interesting dynamic. Despite not possessing any extraordinary abilities, his dignified shadow plays an active role in safeguarding the daily lives of this dynamic super-powered family. This aspect further intensifies the fascination surrounding their lives.

Overall, the Bok family’s combination of distinct abilities, hidden emotions, and the enigmatic presence of their shadows creates a captivating narrative that keeps audiences eagerly anticipating what will unfold next.

The premiere of ‘Although I Am Not a Hero’ is scheduled for May 4th at 10:30 PM.
